The Floating Dock Panel
Expanding & Collapsing
- Collapsed state — A thin 28pt strip on the screen edge showing a tab-stack icon and tab count
- Expanded state — Full-height panel showing all windows and tabs
Toggle by clicking the dock strip or the menu bar icon.
Interaction Modes
TabSight supports two interaction modes (set in Settings):
- Hover mode — Dock expands when your mouse enters the strip area, collapses when it leaves
- Click mode — Dock expands/collapses only when you click
Positioning
- Dock defaults to the right edge of your screen
- Drag — Click and drag the dock strip to reposition
- Edge picker — Use Settings to choose left or right edge
- The dock snaps to screen edges and fills the full screen height when expanded
Multi-Monitor Support
- Dock appears on the screen where you position it
- Drag to move between monitors
- Position is remembered between launches
Visual Appearance
- Uses macOS vibrancy/translucent material for a native feel
- Adapts to light and dark mode automatically
- Non-activating — does not steal focus from your current app
Tip: If the dock is in hover mode and keeps collapsing too quickly, try switching to click mode in Settings for more control.
