Getting Started
1. Grant Automation Permission
When first launched, macOS asks for permission to control Safari and/or Chrome. Click OK to allow TabSight to read your open tabs.
- If you denied access, go to System Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Automation
- Find TabSight and enable the Safari and/or Chrome toggles
- Restart TabSight to apply the change
2. Understanding the Dock
TabSight uses a floating dock panel on the edge of your screen:
- Collapsed: A thin strip on the screen edge with a tab count badge
- Click or hover to expand the dock to its full view
- Expanded: Full list of all browser windows and tabs with a search bar
3. Switching Tabs
Click any tab in the list to switch to it. The browser brings that window forward and activates the tab.
Troubleshooting
Automation permission denied?
- Go to System Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Automation
- Find TabSight and enable the browser toggles (Safari, Chrome)
- Restart TabSight after granting permission
Status bar icon invisible?
- This is a known macOS Tahoe (26) bug affecting many apps
- The floating dock panel works independently of the status bar icon
- Use the dock on the screen edge to access all features
Tabs not updating?
- Check that your browser is running (Safari or Chrome)
- Try clicking Refresh in the dock header
- Verify Automation permission is still granted in System Settings
- The dock auto-refreshes while expanded
Dock not appearing?
- Try clicking the menu bar icon (if visible)
- Check if the dock is on the opposite screen edge
- Reset the dock position in Settings
