SafeRag SE Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SafeRag SE ("the Software") from the Mac App Store, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") in addition to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not download or use the Software.

2. Description of Service

SafeRag SE is a macOS application that provides private AI chat capabilities with built-in local language model inference. Key features include:

• 100% local AI processing on your Mac using built-in llama.cpp inference
• Apple Foundation Models support on macOS 26 and later
• Optional Ollama integration for additional model support
• RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) document intelligence
• AES-GCM encryption for conversations and documents
• Watch folder monitoring for automatic document ingestion

SafeRag SE requires macOS 15.0 or later and an Apple Silicon Mac.

3. License Grant

3.1 Mac App Store License

SafeRag SE is distributed exclusively through the Mac App Store. Your license to use the Software is granted by Apple under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, supplemented by these Terms. By downloading SafeRag SE, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

• Install and use SafeRag SE on any Mac computers associated with your Apple ID, as permitted by the Mac App Store usage rules
• Use the Software for personal or commercial purposes

3.2 License Restrictions

You agree NOT to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
• Modify, adapt, or create derivative works
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices
• Use the Software for illegal purposes
• Redistribute the Software outside of the Mac App Store

4. In-App Purchases

4.1 Free and Premium Features

SafeRag SE is free to download with optional in-app purchases that unlock additional features and capabilities. The specific features available in the free and premium tiers are described on the Mac App Store product page.

4.2 Payment Processing

All in-app purchases are processed and managed by Apple through the Mac App Store. Corixa does not process payments directly or store your payment information.

4.3 Refunds

In-app purchases are non-refundable through Corixa. If you wish to request a refund, you must do so through Apple in accordance with Apple's refund policy at reportaproblem.apple.com.

5. Third-Party Dependencies

5.1 llama.cpp

SafeRag SE includes llama.cpp for local AI model inference. llama.cpp is open-source software provided under the MIT License. The inclusion of llama.cpp does not grant you any rights beyond those provided by the MIT License.

5.2 AI Models

AI models downloaded and used with SafeRag SE (such as Llama, Mistral, Gemma, and others) are provided by third parties and have their own licenses. You are responsible for complying with the license terms of any models you download and use.

5.3 Apple Foundation Models

On macOS 26 and later, SafeRag SE may use Apple Foundation Models for AI inference. Apple Foundation Models are provided by Apple and subject to Apple's terms and conditions. Availability and capabilities depend on your device and region.

5.4 Ollama

SafeRag SE optionally integrates with Ollama for additional model support. Ollama is a separate application not included with SafeRag SE. If you choose to use Ollama, you are responsible for installing it and complying with its terms.

6. Data and Privacy

6.1 Local Processing

All AI processing in SafeRag SE occurs locally on your Mac. Your conversations, documents, and data are never sent to external servers for AI processing.

6.2 App Store Receipt Validation

SafeRag SE validates your Mac App Store purchase receipt to verify in-app purchases. This validation uses Apple's standard receipt verification mechanisms and does not transmit your conversations or documents.

6.3 Privacy Policy

Your use of SafeRag SE is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Ownership

SafeRag SE and all associated intellectual property (code, design, branding, documentation) remain the exclusive property of Corixa.

7.2 Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, or process with SafeRag SE. We claim no rights to your data.

8. AI Output Disclaimer

AI-generated responses may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate content. You should not rely solely on AI outputs for critical decisions, legal advice, medical diagnosis, or any situation where accuracy is essential. You are solely responsible for evaluating and using any AI-generated content.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

SAFERAG SE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
• NON-INFRINGEMENT
• UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION
• ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF AI-GENERATED CONTENT
• COMPATIBILITY WITH SPECIFIC AI MODELS OR HARDWARE CONFIGURATIONS

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CORIXA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
• LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES
• DAMAGES RESULTING FROM AI-GENERATED CONTENT
• DAMAGES FROM UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO YOUR DATA
• DAMAGES FROM BUGS, ERRORS, OR SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR SAFERAG SE IN-APP PURCHASES IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Corixa from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use or misuse of SafeRag SE
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Content you process through SafeRag SE
• Your use of third-party AI models

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by You

You may stop using SafeRag SE at any time by deleting the application from your Mac.

12.2 Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your access to premium features if:

• You violate these Terms
• You engage in fraudulent activity
• Required by law

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your access to premium features may end. Your locally stored data remains on your device. The Mac App Store may also remove the Software in accordance with Apple's policies.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via the Mac App Store update notes or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Iceland, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes shall first be addressed through informal negotiation by contacting support@corixa.io. Unresolved disputes shall be settled through binding arbitration in accordance with Icelandic law.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy and Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and Corixa regarding SafeRag SE.
